Warts

Thickened areas on the soles of the feet that have small black spots or pinholes are likely plantar warts. Plantar warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). Plantar warts grow deep into the skin. Usually, this growth occurs slowly with the wart starting small and becoming larger over time. The affected patches of skin may be painful and can occur alone or in clusters. Because they are caustic and have a low success rate, it’s a bad idea to use over-the-counter remedies to treat a wart. When in doubt, see Dr. Fisher to determine if a lesion is a callus or a plantar wart. Dr. Fisher has a variety of treatment options for eliminating warts from your feet.
